The ARGONA Project (Arenas for Risk Governance) is a project within the sixth Euratom research and training Framework Programme (FP6) on nuclear energy of the European Commission. The project, which started in November 2006 and will last for three years, is coordinated by the Swedish Nuclear Power Inspectorate and managed by Karita Research.

The ARGONA project intends to demonstrate how participation and transparency link to the political and legal systems and how new approaches can be implemented in nuclear waste management programmes. Theoretical development is done and new approaches are tested. Decision-makers and stakeholders at national and local levels will be involved in the project. ARGONA will develop guidelines for the application of novel approaches to participation and transparency.
